a unique location for your family photos: bolzano christmas market
The festive season is fastly approaching and I’m already almost booked out for December (which is amazing and I’m so thankful for!) and I wanted to talk about an original and unique place where to have family photos done, while visiting the Dolomites area: Bolzano Christmas market.
It’s not all about mountains, peaks, ski and cable cars, which is pretty epic I agree. One of the great things to enjoy after a day on the slopes and a warm bath is probably a hot chocolate or a brulè (mulled wine), while visiting a Christmas market. Almost every village/town has one, at least during weekends, but today I wanted to talk about the oldest market in South Tyrol and biggest Christmas market in Italy, which is the one in Bolzano.
All the lights, the art, local food (and drink!) make up for a magical atmosphere that is amazing if you’re thinking about reaching out to a local family photographer, to have some unforgettable moments frozen in time 🙂
On this occasion I was on an assignment for a stock images agency, but I love when clients pick a market as a background for their photos. This might be ideal if:
- you’re a Christmas enthusiast and the cozy and magical atmosphere is what you’re looking for
- you don’t want to interrupt/organize a day of your stay with a photo session
- you’ve got small kids: carousels, the Christmas train and sweets will give an opportunity to make it fun for them and will serve also the purpose of taking candid photos of the whole family
Shortly before dusk is my favourite time for a family session, as there’s a variety of light situations that will allow me to provide for a varied gallery.
So, what are you waiting for? Hop on the Christmas train with me
