Ever wondered how a film photographer sees Tuscany?

In the last years I’ve kept going back to Tuscany more and more, often taking a few of my film cameras with me. My family and I used to go there when my siblings and I were little, but then turned to destinations that were farther and farther away as we grew up. The beautiful thing about the tuscan seaside is that you always have tons of options if you don’t feel like staying at the beach 24/7.

So it came up as a really good idea to go there with little kids and complicated lives, as in recent years.

As you can see another forte of the tuscan seaside is SHADOW. It’s great to walk under a mediterranean pineta and find shelter on the beach using driftwoods. Ok, the water isn’t often the blue crystal water you can find in Sardinia, Puglia or Sicily, but we could compromise on that.

These particular photos were taken at Cecina mare.

We were there the week between the last of August and the first days of September and we got a couple of thunderstorm days, not particulary lucky that time with the weather, but we really didn’t need to always be at the beach, especially being close to beautiful little towns in the tuscan countryside and with some fiorentina steaks patiently waiting to be fired in the barbecue for dinner.

So…I hope you enjoyed the pictures and some little ideas for a trip to Italy, don’t forget to bring…a film camera 🙂

(Hiring a photographer would be a perfect idea as well 😉 )
